The Trial

I filmed Monday on the set of "The Trial" starring Matthew Modine, Bob Gunton and Robert Froster. I was an extra but was featurd in the bank scene hopfully I will make it into the film and not fall to the waste side on the editing chop block : ) I was also in the funeral scene. It was great fun and we were treated very well by the crew. It's always interesting to see what the day will be like and you are VERY happy when your and extra but they make you feel like part you the cast. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Okay, I loooooove period pieces. This is a short film about Marvin Gaye produced by Pitchvine Entertainment. I play a reporter that gets a chance of a life time to interview Marvin. Needless to say it turns into a deep conversation and I love this scene. I think it is raw and a side of Marvin that people really haven't seen portrayed often. The actor (Will Dalton) plays Marvin and really does a great job. He made really feel like I was interviewing Marvin. The more shots the more convincing he was. This wraps in the next couple of weeks. I find myself more and more attracted to the role that are dramatic. They just really have some serious beef if writen well. Hopefully in the near future I will have the opportunity to play more of these roles. I only have one other project lined up right now but that changes from day to day. It is a total blessing from GOD the way everything has just been working out. Pictures to come soon.
I'm even getting more auditions from my agent : ) I haven't landed a job yet from the auditions but they will come. She is so sweet and truthful. I really apprciate all the effort she puts into trying to make us the best actors we can be.
I absolutely love acting!

Pitch Black Milk

It's been awhile since my last update. It has really been some great things happening. I Finished Pitch Black Milk. This is the short film about the struggle of skin color within our society. I play Michelle the light skinned friend that really needs to get a clue. I am nothing like her needless to say. She just doesn't think before she speaks. I hope this short film does really well because the story really hits home with sooo many people out there. This should definitely be selected in some film festivals. I'll keep you posted : )

Infamy

Okay, I am exhausted but so happy. I just finished shooting my scene for Infamy. I was originally going to be the bank teller but was bumped up to prosecutor. That was crazy fun! It was nice to grill someone and not have to apologize or feel guilty about it : ) That only happens in the movies. I definitely made the bloopers reels a couple of times but all in all I think I delivered a solid performance. We filmed at a real courthouse and while I was in the bathroom transforming into my character I had someone ask if I was getting prepared for a case. After I told her I was involved in a movie that was being shot in the courthouse, I told her that she just made my morning because she solidified that the outfit and personality to go with it was legit and I didn't have to spend 3 years in law school to achieve that : ) This is soooo much fun. Well I have an audition tomorrow for a commercial wish me luck and say a prayer too : ) PEACE!

Pitch Black Milk

Well I just came back from our table read for PBM. It was great! We finally saw the whole script. Wow is all I can say. This is a film everyone can walk away from saying they learned something. I teared up big time during the pivital moment in the script. The sprinklers would have come on if I were by myself reading this script : ) Seriously, its that deep. I wish I could tell you but you will just have to wait and check it out :) The writer/director is great and inspiring because she is passionate what she does. You can tell it's in her DNA. My character is A TRIP! You just have to love her and pray for her. Anyway, more to come in the next two weeks about this project. Until then keep dreaming...and never stop!

JCPenney Photo Shoot

Well, the whole family just came back from doing a photo shoot at JCPenney. Our photo's will be submitted for their national Christmas advertising campaign. The kids were selected two year ago. Their photo is still used in the 10x10 white frame in JCPenney Photo Studio's everywhere. Yes, they are the generic family :) It was fun to go and purchase the frame and NOT have to remove the fake people beacuse they were really my children. Hopefully we will get selected this year. If nothing else, we will get some super cool family photo's : )

Ten Thousand Villages

This was a photo shoot for an ad (Ten Thousand Villages of Raleigh) that ran in the Raleigh News and Observer back in the spring for Mother's Day. I had a great time. They sold a lot of robes for Mother's Day so I'd chop this up as a successful ad : )

Infamy

I was cast in the feature film "Infamy" as the bank teller. This is a principal role so I am looking forward to filming. We have had our table read but I don't know when my shoot dayis. I guess I better learn those lines in the mean time :)

Pitch Black Milk

I just found out this week that I will be playing one of the lead roles in a film called "Pitch Black Milk." I am so excited! I reaaaaaallly wanted this role. It was a cold read and I was nervous at first but it turned out to be a lot of fun doing this audition. The story line has some serious meat to it so I can't wait to get the entire script. The character that I auditioned for is so different from me that it will be a blast playing this person. This will stretch me as an actor and allow me to grow. We shoot Aug 28th-30th. Can't wait!

Pirate Chains

My children, Caleb and Samaria, had an opportunity to come along with me for the day and be extras on the set of Pirate Chains. They were troopers. Filming took almost ten hours but they hung in there along with all the other children that were there. I was impressed! I ended up being featured and that is always a great bonus. I interacted with Rob and the Pastor while they were having a private moment. Caleb was in the scene with me. Samaria was in the scene before our shot. Here is a photo of her scene as she is leaving the church. We go back on the Aug 20th to film the wedding scene. We're really looking forward to it. The director is the AWESOME! (Tyhm Kennedy)

On the Market

"On the Market" is really funny. I was a featured extra in the upscale restaurant scene back in May. It took everything in me not to totally crack up while they were filming. I can't wait to see this. I am a sucker for a romantic comedy. I am also excited because I will get my first imdb credit.

Monster Cops

Okay, this was some the the most fun I've had so far. I was a zombie in a webisode called Monster cops. You can check it out at www.monstercops.com. I was attempting to die. It was like being a kid all over again. My husband was a good sport and came with me to the shoot. It was faarrrr out on a farm, Northwood Stables, at night. My first film that I had a chance to work on. Thanks so much to DV3 Productions (Heather) for taking a chance on me. This was on the set of the trailer Nevermore. Were hanging out behind the scenes.
